about me
After working in various jobs within the mental health industry, I realized that I my needs for career fulfillment could be met by working in an area that centered around psychology and design. I soon discovered user experience design and became captivated by the process of design thinking, problem solving and human-centered design.
my journey from mental health to design
Before working as a designer, I worked in the mental health indstury for approximately 5 years where I first learned the value of using a human-centered approach. I quickly learned it was important to be flexible and adjust the environment and care strategy to best suit the needs of each individual client. This meant thinking outside of the box and being open to various potential solutions.
My respect and understanding of the human-centered approach began in the mental health industry and it is something I have carried with me into my work as a user-experience designer.

these are a few of my favorite things
When I'm not working, my favorite thing to do is to pack my binoculars and go for a bike ride along the scenic beach pathways in my city. I love to sit at the different look out points and search for seals, otters and other wildlife.
When I'm at home, I enjoy working on crafts like scrapbooks or book nooks. I enjoy baking my favorite dessert - apple pie. I am also part of my community choir and I play piano for enjoyment. When I'm wanting to relax, I drink tea while watching my favorite shows.
